Course description: A course focused on the following elements: Notes on the Bass Fretboard, Scales and Rhythm.

Course objectives: Upon completion of this course, the successful student will be able to play and effectively apply the following basic elements of the bass knowledge:

• Notes on the Bass Fretboard

• Major (Ionian) Scale

• Minor (Aeolian) Scale

• Rhythm Basics

• Time Signatures

• Scales and Rhythm Application

• Improvisation Basics

Assessment: Student progress will be assessed through submitted videos and graded quizzes

     
Grading system:
A = 93-100          A- = 90-92          B+ = 87-89          B = 83-86          B- = 80-82      

C+ = 77-79         C = 73-76            C- = 70-72          D = 65-69          F = below 65

The instructor reserves the right to modify course objectives as the quarter progresses.
